Evangelos Beris holds a Ph.D. in Viticulture, M.Sc. in Biology and WSET Advanced. Since 2014, he is teaching as an Adjunct Professor in the Dep. of Wine, Vine & Beverage Sciences of the University of West Attica (Form.: Dep. of Oenology & Beverage Technology, TEI of Athens), both at the Under-graduate course and the Post-graduate programme (M.Sc., in Wine and Beer Science). His research fields include Ampelography, Sensory analysis of wine, Vine & Yeast biology, the effects of soil-climate-Topography and viticultural practices on wine, Pests & Diseases of the Grapevine etc. He is the Director of the study programme: “Viticulture & Oenology” at IEK Praxis in Athens. Moreover, he has been working for several years as a Seminar Instructor and a Consultant of Viticulture, Wine-making and Wine Tourism. He has been consulting and collaborating with wineries in Santorini - Greece. Evangelos judges at International wine competitions and gives presentations on Greek wines in several countries. He is also cultivating his own experimental vineyard growing and studying 12 grape-varieties.
