Andreas Matthidis AIWS joined W.S. Karoulias in June 2008 as the “Wine & Spirits Education and Development Consultant”. He is responsible for all the training programs related to all the company’s wine & spirits portfolio. Andreas holds a Diploma in Business Tourism from the Advanced School of Tourist Professions of Rhodes and a Degree in Economics from the University of Athens. From 2009 he holds the Diploma of WSET (Wine & Spirits Educational Trust). In 1983 and for the next four years, he worked at the “Athens Intercontinental Hotel” in the Food & Beverage department. From 1988 until 2000 he managed the largest Catering Company in Athens, “Platis Catering”. In year 2000 he moved to the Headquarters of Kyriakos Filippou Group of companies (FAGE, EVGA, ELBISCO etc) as an Administrative Manager, where he held this position until 2005. From then on, until June 2008, he managed the Oenotria Land Estate of Kostas Lazaridis in Kapandriti - Attica. Furthermore, since 2005 until today, he is a senior instructor at WSPC (Wines & Spirits Educational Trust branch in Greece as well as holds the Presidency of the Greek Sommelier Association, of which he was also one of the founders. Moreover from 2004 until 2007 he was a member of the board of the “International Sommelier Association” (ASI) and currently is Vice President of the “Chaine des Rotisseurs” in Greece. Since 2013 curries the title of Q grader in coffee industry.
