Nikos Loukakis is an Excellent Graduate of the WSET® Advanced Certificate and Senior Lecturer at Levels 1 & 2 of the WSPC® in Wine and Spirits, and Principal of the Modern Sommelier who participated in its creation. He was the first WSPC® lecturer since the organization was founded in Greece in 2004. He is a founding member of the Panhellenic Association of Sommeliers and in the Panhellenic Competitions of 1998 and 2000 he won the first place representing Greece at Pan-European and World level in the two respective competitions. He has been working professionally in the field of hospitality for thirty years, initially as a sommelier in: Bajazzo, Island, Central, Winch and Mezzo-Mezzo. He worked in Managerial positions in the Beverage Category for www.yassas.com and as Wine Marketing Manager at GENKA EMPORIKI. HE was Operations Director at Matsuhisa Mykonos, Nobu St Moritz, Island, Da Vinci & Scorpios Mykonos and as a Wine Manager at GENKA EMPORIKI SA Since 2015 he maintains his own consulting company for restaurants and since July 2018, he is co-owner of Restaurant-Bar Noah in the center of Athens. Since 2018 he writes in GRAPE about the combination of wine and food.
